Final date by which students may WITHDRAW from full-year units without academic penalty (i.e. FAIL result).

 

Semester 2 CENSUS DAY 31 August

Last day by which students may WITHDRAW from:

Semester 2 units without incurring a HECS debt or academic penalty (i.e. FAIL result)

Full year units without incurring a HECS debt BUT will incur academic penalty (i.e. FAIL result)

Dates for withdrawal refer also to the reverse side of your enrolment advice.

Reminder: Sub-Deans/Faculty Officers are available (by appointment through receptionist) to discuss implications of withdrawal and/or any problems/queries regarding your course.

*Special late withdrawals will only be accepted under exceptional circumstances. Medical certificate or other documentation is required. Failure to complete study requirements will not be considered as sufficient grounds for late withdrawal. The Universities Academic Registrars Office determines the final decision. We suggest that you keep a record of any documentation you receive from the University e.g. receipts for monies paid or enrolment advice for future reference.

 

RE-ENROLMENT

October (date tba/see noticeboard) Undergraduate students who wish to continue in 2002 must attend in person the re-enrolment session (with re-enrolment form) at the Centre for the Arts, for PROVISIONAL approval of their 2002 enrolment and allocation into classes. A late fee will apply to forms lodged after this date. Students who re-enrol for 2002 and later change their mind about continuing in 2002 must remember to formally withdraw (by letter or ÔEnrolment/Fees Notice and Variation Form). If this is not done, you will incur a HECS debt for 2002 and possibly an ÔAbsent deemed failed result.

 

VARIATION OF ENROLMENT

Follow the instructions on the reverse side of the Enrolment Statement. Adding a unit requires the signature of the Lecturer-in-charge. The Sub-Dean or Faculty OfficerÕs signature is required to approve the enrolment. Remember to sign the form also before returning it to Student Administration (our receptionist can forward it on your behalf).

SWIPE CARDS AND AFTER HOUR ACCESS

Swipe cards allow you access to the Art School after hours through the bottom doors on Hunter Street level. To get a swipe card you will need current proof of enrolment/student ID. Once you have fill the swipe card application form out (conditions applied), take it to Entrepot Art Supplies shop. A swipe card will be issued for the cost of $10; $5 is refundable on return of your card (you need to return your card when you finish at the Art School).

SECURITY

Security officer is available:

8.30 am to 10.15 pm Monday Ð Friday

10.00 am to 5.15 pm Sat and Sunday

 

To locate the Security officer ring 7600 from the Inter-Campus phone located in the corridor behind Security office on Level 2. If you wish to work after hours you need an after hour pass signed by the Supervisor of the studio area for access. After-hours Access pink slip is available at the Security and Reception counters. To avoid any theft valuable personal belongings should be locked away securely or kept with you at all times. University insurance does not cover theft or damage of studentÕs personal belongings (check personal home insurance for cover).

INTERCAMPUS TELEPHONE

Free Access This telephone extension is located in the corridor behind Security on Level 2, has free direct access to all sections of the University. Most commonly used numbers are listed alongside. Ask the Receptionist for assistance if the number you require is not listed.

Sub-Deans and Faculty Officers see students by appointment, made through the receptionist. Their appointment sessions are listed on the Admin noticeboard. At other times, Faculty Officers can be contacted by the Intercampus telephone, on ext 2249, 2061 or 3624.

The School Technical Staff and Technical Assistants have offices close to main Workshop areas. Phillip Blacklow our Wood Technical Officer can assist you in obtaining information regarding Health and Safety.

Metal workshop: 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday (except Friday afternoons)
