My research project explores the representation of place as it is made manifest in the production and consumption of souvenirs and other artefacts of travel.

In short the artefacts that fall within the purview of this project may summed up as "The art produced by one culture for viewing and consumption by another".

To date research in this field has taken the form of surveys of the Hobart's Salamanca tourist strip and regional souvenir outlets, and a study trip to Alice Springs.
